A 3-month-old baby girl is dead after deputies say she was found with “severe trauma” in Katy on Thursday.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez tweeted that deputies responded to a home in the 1700 block of Penmark Lane.
@HCSOTexas units responded to a residence at the 1700 blk of Penmark Lane. Deputies discovered a 3-month-old female infant with what appeared to be severe trauma. The infant has been taken by Lifeflight in critical condition. #HouNews pic.twitter.com/6st9GwZ887

Gonzalez said the infant was found with “severe trauma” and was taken to the hospital via Life Flight in critical condition.
In a later update, a detective on scene told reporters that the child was dead.
Officials said they don’t have any suspects and have yet to interview the mother.
It’s unclear how the child sustained her injuries.
