Houston police are investigating after they say a man was shot and kidnapped early this morning in the Tanglewood neighborhood.

Houston police said they responded to a shooting around 2 a.m. near the intersection of Tanglewood Boulevard and Huckleberry Lane.

SkyEye video shows the vehicle with several bullet holes on the driver side and a busted tire and damage on the passenger’s side.

An investigator on scene told reporters the driver of a black Nissan was shot and kidnapped, taken by the suspects in a white SUV.

Investigators believe the suspects were chasing the victims well before turning onto the Tanglewood street.

In surveillance video that was captured from a neighbors home, you can see the SUV crash into the passenger side of the car and shots being fired into the car before the SUV drives off, leaving one person behind. Police say that woman is the one who called them.

Neighbors we spoke to say this kind of thing is shocking and worrying.

“You know, I dont know how you avoid this. You dont have control over this. There are two police patrols in this neighborhood. You cant prevent this. I dont know how you do that…I walk this trail just about every day and Im concerned. I have already been concerned, said Tanglewood resident, Dan Prosser.

Neighbor Houman Farzian said he woke up to the sound of the gun shots early this morning.

“We were sleeping, so our master bedroom is right here and we heard two gunshots and screaming and yelling after that…This is you know the world we are facing. We are raising our children, young children. I am worried, said Farzian

Residents shared an email they received from Tanglewood Patrol saying the victim had been rescued and that suspects are in custody however, HPD says they cannot verify that information at this point.

Police tell us this is still active situation and say that detectives are still working to interview people and follow up on leads.
