Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting in north Harris County.

On Tuesday at about 3 p.m., Harris County Precinct 4 Constables responded to the 1800 block of Briarcreek Boulevard in reference to a shooting.

At the scene, authorities found a 42-year-old Black man that was shot multiple times in a parking lot. According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, the man was pronounced dead.

Sgt. Jason Brown with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Division said investigators have been able to determine that a suspect arrived at the location in what they believe is a four-door black Audi.

The suspect is described as a young, light-skinned Black man or Hispanic man between 20 and 30 years old.

Authorities say the suspect approached the victim and immediately began shooting. The suspect was then observed leaving the scene, the sergeant says.

At this point, investigators said the motive is unknown since the shooting happened quickly and the suspect was on the scene for a couple of minutes. It is unclear if that person knew the victim or if this was an attempted robbery.

Brown says they are reviewing video footage from several homes to get a better idea of the suspect and the vehicle.

Deputies have spoken with the victim’s girlfriend, who lives at the location, and are unsure if the victim also lived there. According to deputies, the girlfriend said there was no information of the victim being into any problems with anyone or if there were any existing threats towards him.
