A man has been arrested after two people were shot during an argument at a home in Cypress on Tuesday morning, officials said.
Harris County Pct. 4 Constable Mark Herman said deputies responded to a home in the 14200 block of Galvani Drive around 6:30 a.m. in response to a double shooting.
At the scene, they found a man who had been shot in the stomach and a woman with a gunshot wound to the hand.
They were both taken to the hospital in stable condition. Deputies said the man was undergoing surgery but is expected to survive.
Investigators said all three people involved in the shooting were in an argument before the suspect pulled out a gun and started shooting. It’s unclear what the argument was about.
Deputies said the shooter, who is a family member of one of the victims, fled the scene with his girlfriend or wife and their child.
He was later found and arrested without incident in the 17400 block of the Northwest Freeway near Jones Road, officials said. The weapon was reportedly found inside his vehicle.
The suspect has been charged with aggravated assault. A photo from Pct. 4 shows the suspect in the back of a patrol vehicle.
