An 18-year-old woman has been arrested and charged after shooting a woman whose car the suspect was breaking into, Houston police say.
Surveillance video obtained on Wednesday shows the victim, who had been shot multiple times, pull up to a gas station on Wilcrest in what is believed to be the suspect’s car. In the video, you can see the woman wave for help while sitting inside a silver car.
One of the store clerks called police, and the woman was rushed to a hospital, according to police. She is in critical condition.
Investigators said this is all believed to have started at about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday as a car burglary at a Stafford motel. The victim says she woke up in her motel room and went to check on her car.
That’s when she found the suspect inside and was shot five times. Somehow, the victim managed to take off to the gas station in the shooter’s car, police said.
Now, Stafford police say 18-year-old Kayonie Guerrero has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
